Don't be fooled by the title. Yes, this training school is named Pro Daddy, but it's not solely for pro riders, anyone – regardless of ability or age – is welcome. Three-time British champ and MXdN winner Paul Malin's experience and knowledge is second to none and he wants to share it with you. He’s available for one-to-ones as well as group training.

Racers Edge provide a complete motocross coaching service, with various courses including Core Skills, Race Craft, Jump clinics and Fitness & Mental Preparation. Head coach Paul Cowshall has over 20 years of MX experience and continues to be passionate about bringing on riders and racers with the knowledge he has gained from a national and international racing career as well as being a qualified fitness instructor. BIKES AND GEAR
The Wheeldon Off-Road Adventure Centre has recently struck a deal with Suzuki, so you can expect the very best equipment that a Japanese manufacturer has to offer, all of which is continually maintained to a high standard.
Everyone from the complete novice to a seasoned vet is catered for thanks to Wheeldon’s extensive range of bikes, which range from a handful of three-speed 70cc beauties to the mightily impressive RM-Z250 motocrosser and specially prepared RM250-E trail bike. There really is a bike for every level and size of rider, and as your confidence grows so too can your engine capacity.
If you haven’t got any gear, fear not, as Wheeldon Farm boasts a full quiver of top notch Acerbis clothing and safety equipment, including boots and body armour if required, while KBC provide the helmets. Everything is kept in good nick and smells lovely and fresh.

FACILITIES AND ACCOMMODATION
Off-road heaven in the Devon countryside is not far off the mark. You’ve got a couple of dedicated indoor arenas that are great fun to ride and an excellent environment for tuition. If that’s not enough there’s a spectacular outdoor MX track, plus more green lanes and trail riding routes than you can wave a stick at (Devon has the highest concentration of public byways in the UK and they’re lovely and snotty this time of year).
Dirt bikes aside, the on-site accommodation is spot on and consists of a variety of sympathetically converted barns/out buildings that should ensure your stay is as comfortable as it is fun.
If that ain’t enough there’s also an indoor heated swimming pool (so take your Speedos), full-size American pool table and games room, conference facilities and a changing room/shower block. The food’s good too.

It may be deep in the heart of the South Hams, but Wheeldon Farm is only ten minutes from the A38 (2.5 miles from Diptford) so it’s dead easy to get to, fast. I did it from Manchester in four-and-a-bit-hours thanks to the unusually free-flowing M6 and M5 motorways, so it’s not as far as you might think, especially on a good run.
If you can’t be asked to drive the nearest train station is Totnes, or you could even charter your own Learjet and fly to either Plymouth or Exeter airport, which is only 25-minutes away.
