MX2:The Ultimate Shootout
As far as bike tests go, generally they’re all pretty similar: you rock up at the track, get on said bike, shoot the images then get on with the business of testing it. With a shootout, it’s pretty much the same except you take more than one bike and pitch them against each other to determine which one is the best. But this aint no ordinary shootout, oh no! Instead, we decided to take not only the 125s, but also their 250F counterparts in an attempt to find the best in each class. And if that’s not enough, how about we take the best of each category and test them head to head to discover what really is the best MX2 machine that money can buy?

In search of the king
Japanese 450 'crossers on test
You know how curiosity killed the cat? Well, it was a bit like that down here at the MotoX squat after we’d ridden the entire 450 motocross models during the closing months of the season. And you know what they say about curiosity don’t you? That’s right, leave well alone. But we couldn’t. Especially after the introduction of the brand new Suzuki RM-Z450. So, we decided to pitch the latest 450 up against the most established and most popular, those of course being the CRF Honda and the YZF Yamaha to see who really is… King of the J’s.

The Class of 2004
250 four-stroke grouptest
It's been the question we have been asked the most since the new 2004 models launch in the later half of last year. Which of the 250 four-strokes is the one? And you know, we haven't been able to answer that. Having tested the four Japanese four-strokes individually in at least four separate locations, all with different conditions, it's been impossible to give a definitive answer. Until now. Yep, this is the test you've all been waiting for.

How’s this for a New Year treat?
Enduro450 four-stroke test
Four humming 450s set one against the other in typical ugly British weather on typically slippery gnarly terrain. A real test. Yep, the MotoX crew headed off deep into the Welsh valleys, to Tom’s Farm (again), where conditions were pretty tricky. Only we didn’t have a KTM, which only goes to prove the old adage ‘you can’t test all of the bikes all of the time.’ So we’ll have to come back to the KTM, separately alas, another time.
